A speed painting I did for practice. Its Andronikos Revel from Star wars: The Old Republic. Not generic Revel, its from one of the appearance packs. Took me about 1.5 to 2 hours.

at first it seemed really difficult, but after doing two Im really getting the hang of not getting caught up on detail. Its improved my workflow hugely though its caused a certain 'painted' style to my pictures. I think I like it though! Im so new to painting Im still figuring out what my style is :) Speed painting is definitely something you can play with while killing time on a canal boat ;)

Ah yes - style still eludes me. Hah - problems with charging laptops on a canal boat plus it becomes extra luggage to take along etc. I have (believe it or not) taken some good old paper and pencils with me but get too caught up in the scenery, pubs etc to do anything

Well on the upside you probably have time to do about an hour or two of painting before the boat has moved much past the pub :p To me your art has a very definite style, particularly your painting but once you start doing digital painting more and more you might find it starts to evolve and change depending on which brushes and things you really take a liking to. Personally I absolutely love the really painted brushed look like this [link] but its so much harder to achieve than you would think :/
